What is Project Quay?

Project Quay is the open source distribution of Red Hat Quay optimized for the secure distribution of container images no matter whether you are scaling from a small department to the public internet. Project Quay offers a consumer-grade web UI, image vulnerability scanning, and enterprise-grade data storage and protection.

Project Quay works out of the box as a standalone container registry requiring only a database and reliable storage for your container images. With minimal infrastructure requirements, Project Quay is designed to easily scale as your image volumes grow. Quay runs on everything from a laptop to enterprise-class servers.

If you are looking for enterprise-level support, Red Hat offers Quay.io as a hosted service, or Red Hat Quay for on-premise or private-cloud deployments.

Check the README file for more information on the latest release of Project Quay.

Built For Security

Project Quay includes Clair, a leading container vulnerability scanner. Clair scans every image pushed to Quay and continuously scans images to provide a real-time view of any known vulnerabilities in your containers. Clair is used by commercial container registries as well as the Red Hat Container Catalog to provide complete visibility into the security status of container images.
